La Joie Fleuri is a local florist proudly serving Florence, Oregon and the surrounding area. Founded by florist Runningwater Rollin in March 2025, La Joie Fleuri grew from more than 15 years of floral experience and a love of flowers that began among the wildflower-filled mountain prairies of Oregon.

A Lifelong Love of Flowers

For Runningwater, flowers have always represented something more.

Growing up surrounded by the Oregon Coast Range, she remembers mountain prairies filled with tall foxgloves, pearly white daisies, deep blue delphiniums, and bold tiger lilies. Wildflowers spilled along the small dirt country roads that wound through the mountain valleys and connected one homestead to the next.

Among her most cherished memories are the wild daffodils that would begin appearing through the February snow. After long winters that could leave her family snowed in for weeks at a time, their golden blooms were a joyful reminder that spring was on its way and warmer, softer days were ahead.

Those early experiences created a connection with flowers that Runningwater has carried throughout her life. To her, flowers can represent joy, perseverance, hope, and the simple beauty of blooming exactly where you are planted.

From a Love of Flowers to La Joie Fleuri

As a young woman, Runningwater began working at a small florist shop, where she spent more than 12 years alongside an experienced team of floral designers. There, her childhood appreciation for flowers grew into a professional understanding of floral artistry.

She learned the principles behind thoughtful floral design, from creating a strong focal area to understanding how colors complement and contrast with one another. Over the years, she continued developing her craft through hands-on experience, classes at the Floral Design Institute, instruction from experienced florists, and extensive study of floral design.

After more than a decade in the industry, Runningwater decided it was time to combine everything she had learned with the love of flowers she had carried since childhood. In March 2025, La Joie Fleuri was born.

Rather than approaching flowers as simply decorative, Runningwater creates each arrangement with an appreciation for the character, movement, color, and meaning of the individual blooms.

Her designs reflect the natural beauty that first inspired her: flowers that feel joyful, expressive, and as though they could have been gathered from a beautiful garden.

Runningwater also has a special appreciation for the traditional and spiritual meanings associated with different flowers. That understanding adds another layer of intention to her work, allowing flowers to help communicate feelings and messages that aren't always easy to put into words.
